Turtle Top Quilt Specs
Size Medium weighs 7oz with stuff sack
800 fillpower RDS water-resistant down quilt attaches to your dog with an integral under-harness made from breathable-stretch fabric. Shell fabric is 20 denier DWR treated downproof ripstop nylon. There are tiny buckles to clip up the quilt into a jacket configuration. Comes with stuff sack. Use of a sleeping pad (like a z-rest) is recommended to insulate your dog from the ground in cold weather.
1.25 thick is great for tent camping down to 30 degrees for a short-hair and 1.5" thick is good for down to 20 degree tent camping for a short-hair. The Shoulder Season quilt is sewn with a stitch-thru grid pattern. (For a winter 3" thick version that is great for nights that never get above freezing redirect here.)
Please note that the intended use of this product is for wearing in the tent at night or as a jacket when above tree-line. Some customers do use the quilt as a jacket while hiking but extra care should be taken to prevent brush-snags. The goal of this product is to make the lightest, warmest dog sleep solution and materials are not intended for harsh off-leash wear.
Despite popular belief, down is a highly washable material! Seasonal washing will restore the loft (warmth) of your down gear. Just wash with a small amount of detergent or down-soap, do a double rinse cycle, and dry on low for as long as it takes to fully dry, then store in a cotton pillowcase. Skip the tennis balls in the dryer- this product is small enough, you don't need them!
